World Naked Bike Ride

The UK's World Naked Bike Ride June events are closing fast:

"Every year, in cities around the world, people ride bikes naked to celebrate cycling and the human body. The ride demonstrates the vulnerability of cyclists on the road and is a protest against car culture."

This is definitely something I haven't done before, but I'm doing two other charity rides in June so I'm quite tempted by this. Southampton should be far away enough for no-one to recognise me :-)

Being recognised is one thing. Having the figure to biff about naked is another...
Part of the point is that naked people come in all shapes and sizes and very few of us look like models.
I'd like to and the Sheffield ride is within reach, but 27 riders in 2008, 17 in 2009, in 2010 I don't want it to be me and the dude who organised the thing.
I once stripped off and cycled round a local golf course naked. But that wasn't for charity - just because I could.
I can't imagine it being bearable, let alone comfortable. I'd need a much, much bigger saddle than any we have now...
It really makes very little difference being naked. Except the rivets on a Brooks are a bit chilly.
You and your exposed mucus membranes reckon so?
Had a woman on the back of the tandem saying much the same thing; ran into a couple I know from yacf saying much the same thing; etc.
